The ELDP Class of 2016 Graduates

Category: Report,

The fifth and final retreat for the Emerging Leader Development Program (ELDP) Class of 2016 took place in Singapore from September 22–25, 2016. It focused on values, competencies and good decision-making, and marked the end of a three-year journey for our participants.

In all, 15 leaders from seven countries (China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam) were commissioned to bring what they had learnt back to their own organizations.

This retreat featured outstanding guest speakers, including Mr Sam Lam, CEO of Linkage Asia; Mr Jason Wong, Chair of Focus on the Family Singapore’s Board; and Mr Alfred Chan, Executive Director of Imperial Consulting Pte Ltd—who shared their insights and experiences building organizations able to strategize well and grow the right competencies, all while holding fast to a strong value system.

The highlight of the retreat was a visit to the Mandarin Orchard Hotel, where participants met OUE Group chairman, Dr Stephen Riady—to learn more about his leadership journey, and hear his insightful experiences of expanding his father’s business into an international conglomerate.

The graduates were commissioned at a special banquet, held at the Tanglin Club on September 24. Our guest speaker, Dr Lucas Chow (Chairman of Singapore’s Health Promotion Board and former CEO of MediaCorp, Singtel Mobile and Far East Orchard) challenged his audience to go MAD—to Make A Difference wherever they went.
